How it works

Do my images get uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API — the file never leaves your device, so it's fully private and works even offline once the page has loaded.

Which format should I pick?

WebP gives the smallest files at the same visual quality and is supported everywhere modern; JPEG is the safe default for photos; PNG is lossless (best for graphics/screenshots with sharp edges or transparency).

What does the quality slider do?

For JPEG and WebP it trades a little visual detail for a much smaller file. 75–85% is usually indistinguishable from the original at a fraction of the size. PNG ignores it (lossless).
